History
Every trade has its role models. And in general contracting ours is Domenic M. Bernardi who started his company in 1926 with money his wife had saved from taking in boarders. D. M. Bernardi was located in Sherborn where apples grew in abundance and as a consequence there were many small cider mills. When it came time to choose a site for his "company", Bernardi decided on an old cider mill on Forest Street in Sherborn which had previously exported "champagne cider" as far west as Texas and Nebraska and as far east as England and Belgium.
At the same time Bernardi started his business homes were being built by the Haynes Family in what is now called the Cliff Estate section of Wellesley; www.haynesmanagement.com. Bernardi and Haynes worked closely together on a variety of projects for two generations. In 1983 Jonathan Haynes, the third generation of Haynes real estate developers, purchased D. M. Bernardi. Today Bernardi's legacy of hard work, fairness, and a job done to the highest standards endures in that same old cider mill in Sherborn
